Portrait of Pontus Fall

About me

Story first

Film producer and journalist with degrees in political science and economics. Experienced cinematographer and editor, and a licensed drone pilot. Background at a communications agency. Running my own business since 2014.

With a background in journalism, I always put the story first and carve out messages that deliver results.

Clients hire me as a one-stop shop for film and live streaming, as well as copy and stills. When my own one-man band isn’t enough for the job, I draw on a wide network to put together the right team.

I strongly believe in long-term partnerships. I have worked with most of my clients for years, which means I can produce content independently with very little input or project management on their side.

I’m based in Stockholm and take on projects all over Sweden, and regularly elsewhere in Europe.

Services

What I do

Film

I take on the whole production, or just the part you need – as producer, cinematographer or editor. Often all three. The results range from corporate films and explainers to testimonials and social media ads.

I used to produce animated explainers for clients like Tessin, Samtrygg and Datscha. I stopped offering them because most of the budget went to the team of animators I had to hire. With AI and new tools, it’s a service I’m bringing back.

Investment and share issue films

Need a film that raises money for a project or an investment? It could be real estate or a start-up. I have plenty of experience with crowdfunding and share issue films, and I know what works.

Live streaming

Conferences, events and lectures, streamed live to the audience in the room and around the world. From my own studio or on location anywhere in Sweden. Fully digital or hybrid.

History

From wardrobe to Moderna Museet

2008

Degree in political science and economics, plus journalism studies at Poppius. Studied abroad at universities in Kerala (India) and Stellenbosch (South Africa).

2008–2014

Full-time journalist and writer at the communications agency Svensk Information. Over time the job grew to include camera work and editing.

2014

Start my own business focused on writing and film. A bold move, given that I had neither paying clients nor fancy camera gear. And yes, my office was literally a converted wardrobe. Highlights: wine features from vineyards in South Africa and several long-form stories for the magazine Faktum.

2015

Things start to take off, and I can finally buy professional film equipment. Begin working with Tessin, writing content and producing films about their crowdfunding projects.

2016

Start a long-term partnership with the production company PMAGI.

2017

More clients in real estate, where I find a niche: investment films for crowdfunded property projects and share issues.

2018

Shoot and edit the short documentary ’79, shown on Viaplay among others and later reaching nearly half a million views on YouTube. The film gets a boost from none other than Zlatan, who shares it on Twitter.

2019

Highlight: share issue film for FundedByMe.

2020

Highlight: the pandemic stops Korean public broadcaster KBS from sending its own crew to Sweden. As journalist, segment producer and cinematographer, I handle the full production of several long filmed reports during the year.

2021

Highlight: land a job hosting the podcast Juridikens värld, a co-production between Monopol Media and Norstedts Juridik.

2022

Found the studio Bäck/Fall Studio & Produktion in Sundbyberg.

2023

Highlights: filming and editing the Husqvarna Media Event, a green screen production with real-time rendering by Virtual Star. Also begin a long-term partnership with the Swedish Society for Emergency Medicine.

2024

Oh no, the numbers just don’t add up for the new studio. We have to close, but the venture lives on through an increasing number of live streams around Stockholm, and as a phantom studio housed at the lovely Infinity Studio in Solna.

2025

Highlight: Gröna Linjen, where I was one of two lead cinematographers, finally comes together after four years and does well in cinemas across Sweden.

2026

Producing an increasing number of live streams, with Care & Repair Day at Moderna Museet standing out as a fond memory.
